23 DEC 2013 – 6 JAN 2014

Day 1 – CHC or WLG to Auckland flying Air New Zealand. On arrival you will be transferred to the port to board the magnificent Diamond Princess Cruise Ship.

Day 2 – Tauranga: Your ship docks near the foot of Mt. Maunganui, which rises 761 feet above the bay. Across the harbour, Tauranga offers scenic tidal beaches at Omokoroa and Pahoia. The region boasts fine beaches, big-game fishing, thermal springs and seaside resorts.

Day 3 – At Sea

Day 4 – Akaroa: Akaroa Harbour is home to a diverse array of marine life, including rare Hector’s dolphins, and visitors are lured by the area’s secluded beaches and quaint boutiques.

Day 5 – Dunedin: Dunedin is a Kiwi city with a Scottish heart and proud of its heritage. Hailed as the “Edinburgh of New Zealand,”it also boasts a distinguished architectural and cultural history, a legacy of New Zealand’s 1860s gold rush.

Day 6 – Fiordland National Park: New Zealand’s largest national park was formed millennia ago by massive glacial flows that carved deep fiords into the coast of the South Island. At the heart lies Milford Sound where mile-high Mitre Peak dominates the upper reaches of the sound, rainforest clings to the cliffs and graceful waterfalls plummet into the void.

Day 7-8 – At Sea

Day 9 – Hobart: Hobart owes its origins to the establishment of a penal colony – and its natural setting is just as impressive. Seen from its fine deep-water harbour, Hobart spills over the lower reaches of the Derwent Valley as Mt. Wellington towers in the background.

Day 10 – At Sea

Day 11 – Melbourne: Melbourne is a sprawling city offering culture, art, fashion and friendly sportsminded Australians. It is also an easy city to explore. At the heart of the city is the Golden Mile, the city’s administrative center, home to hotels, shops, restaurants and theaters.

Day 12 – At Sea

Day 13-14 – Sydney: On arrival you’ll spend the next few days at leisure exploring the nooks and crannies of this fascinating harbour city. Enjoy some retail therapy, see a show, or engage in ‘people watching’ at any one of a number of fine waterfront cafes. There’s always plenty to do.

Day 15 – Today you’ll be transferred to Sydney airport for your flight back to AKL/WLG or CHC.
